About Us
Our Purpose:
Around here we say that our purpose is “to Glorify God by leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, Here…There…and Everywhere, by the power of the Holy Spirit.” This really defines us, but like all purpose statements, there is meaning packed into every phrase.
- To GLORIFY God...speaks of our motivation (Why we do what we do.) It is not enough to "do" something for God...it must be done in such a way and for the purpose that God would be glorified.
- By LEADING PEOPLE...speaks of the process (What we do.) Everyone is on a journey. The life of a Christ follower is not a destination, but is an ongoing process.
- Into a GROWING RELATIONSHIP...speaks of our objective (What we hope to accomplish). Living things grow...and since we are in a living, vibrant relationship with God...we must all be growing.
- With JESUS CHRIST...speaks of our affection. All that we do is for Him.
- HERE, THERE, and EVERYWHERE...speaks of the "where" of our mission. We are called to make disciples (fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ) where we are, or HERE (Escambia County Florida), THERE (Across the State of Florida and across this continent, and EVERYWHERE (since the gospel is the only hope for this world...we are called to take it beyond the water's edge...the the farthest places around the globe.
- by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT. The task of reconciling a world to Christ is too big for any one person, church, or fellowship of churches. We know this...so we are fully reliant on the Holy Spirit to empower us to accomplish the task God has for us.
