ABOUT US
Our Purpose: Around here we say that our purpose
is “to Glorify God by leading people into a growing relationship
with Jesus Christ, Here…There…and Everywhere, by the
power of the Holy Spirit.” This really defines us, but like
all purpose statements, there is meaning packed into every phrase.
- To Glorify God…speaks of our Motivation.
(Why we do what we do.) It is not enough to “do” something
for God…it must be done in such a way and for the purpose
that God would be glorified.
- By Leading People…speaks of our Process
(What we do). Everyone is on a journey. The life of a Christ follower
is not a destination, but is an ongoing process.
- Into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ…speaks
of our objective. Our desire is that everyone would be growing
in his or her relationship with God.
- Here, There, and Everywhere…speaks of
our location. It is not enough to be a good church in Pensacola.
God has called His church to be engaged in helping people everywhere
come to know God for who He is.
Our Staff: Here at Calvary, if you want to meet
the ministers you just have to look around. Every member is a minister.
That being said, our church is led by a competent and professional
staff that help us become more effective at fulfilling God’s
purpose.
Our Affiliations: Calvary Baptist Church is an independent
and autonomous community of believers. Recognizing the value of
cooperation, Calvary partners with other churches of like faith
through our affiliations with the Pensacola
Bay Baptist Association, Florida
Baptist Convention, and Southern
Baptist Convention. We also partner with other great organizations
from time to time when doing so benefits the work of the Kingdom
of God.
Get Plugged In: Being a Christ follower is certainly
not a “spectator sport.” There is a place for you to
serve and make a difference at Calvary. There are many ministries
